Aunt Ann

Tonight I was reunited with my mom's sister Ann. My mom and Ann were adopted into different homes as very small children and many many years went by without them speaking to one another.

Tonight was very emotional for me. Once she left my home I had to go for a drive alone and recount the events of the evening.

In my opinion, my aunt looks like my mom, talks like my mom, walks like my mom, and acts like my mom. Tonight I felt happy to be reunited with her again but part of me felt sad that she shut us out of her life for nearly thirty years. I love my aunt because we are blood and I'm looking forward to getting to know her. My heart is heavy and yet so full of love tonight. I can't seem to find the words to express what I'm feeling.
