I am losing five daycare spots this summer---one family with two kids will be moving to Folsom and changing schools, one boy will be spending the summer with his dad in Fairfield, and the other two will shuffle back and forth between their mom and dad all summer long- as they both have considerable amount of time off. I've started advertising and will continue to pray that I'll be given wonderful families to "raise" and care for this summer and for a very long time to come.
In the meantime, I can't lie. My stomach is in knots. I have to work. I have to bring in extra money for my family. If I'm unable to fill these spots I will have to quit nursing school and find a night job to help with our financial burden. I say night job because I won't be able to afford placing three children in childcare while I work during the day.
I have to keep believing things will be OK. They have to be, right? Right.
